MDEQ Lifts Water Contact Advisory for Station in Gulfport

No Stations Under Advisory Across the Mississippi Gulf Coast

(JACKSON, Miss.) — The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), through its Beach Monitoring Program, lifted a water contact advisory Wednesday for beach monitoring station 10. Water samples at this station show the area has attained acceptable bacteria levels. There are currently no stations across the Mississippi Gulf Coast under an advisory.The advisory has been lifted for the following station:

►Station 10 — Gulfport Central Beach — from Alfonso Drive east to Arkansas Avenue.

Swimmers are reminded that the Beach Task Force has a standing recommendation that swimming not occur during or within 24 hours of a significant rainfall event.
