MDEQ Lifts One Beach Advisory One Other in Effect
(JACKSON, Miss.) – The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), through its Beach Monitoring Program, lifted a water contact advisory Friday for Station 15. Station 14 remains under an advisory.
Advisory is lifted for:
- Station 15 — Shearwater Beach (Ocean Springs) — from Weeks Bayou east to Ashley Place.
Advisory remains in effect for:
- Station 14 — Front Beach (Ocean Springs) — from the Yacht Club east to Jackson Ave.
When water samples show that levels are safe for human contact, the advisory will be lifted. Swimmers are reminded that the Beach Task Force has a standing recommendation that swimming not occur during or within 24 hours of a significant rainfall event.
