(JACKSON, Miss.) – The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), through its Beach Monitoring Program, lifted closures Wednesday for Stations 5, 6, 7, 7A, and 8 in Harrison County. Stations 1, 2, 3, and 4 in Hancock County were previously lifted.The closures are lifted for:
►Station 5 — Pass Christian West Beach — from Fort Henry Ave. to Elliot Ave.
►Station 6 — Pass Christian Central Beach — from Henderson Ave. to Hiern Ave.
►Station 7 — Pass Christian East Beach — from Espy Ave. to Hayden Ave.
►Station 7A — Long Beach — from Oak Gardens Ave. to Girard Ave.
►Station 8 — Gulfport West Beach — from Maria Ave. to Camp Ave.
The remaining closures issued October 9 remain in effect as hurricane debris is removed, and MDEQ’s water sampling and analysis can resume.
