(Jackson, Miss.) – The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), through its Beach Monitoring Program, has lifted a preemptive beach closure for Station 7A (Long Beach) that was issued October 6. Water samples at this station show the area has attained acceptable bacteria levels.
A beach closure is lifted for:
- Station 7A — Long Beach — extends from Oak Gardens Ave. east to Girard Ave.
Swimmers are reminded that the Beach Task Force has a standing recommendation that swimming not occur during or within 24 hours of a significant rainfall event.
