Jackson, MS – The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), through its Beach Monitoring Program, has lifted the beach water contact advisory for Gulfport East Beach. Water samples at this station show the area has reached acceptable bacteria levels. There are no beach water contact advisories on the Mississippi Gulf Coast at this time.
The advisory have been lifted for:
- Gulfport East Beach — the previously affected area is from Tegarden Ave. east to Anniston Ave. (Station 11)
Swimmers are reminded that the Beach Task Force has a standing recommendation that swimming should not occur during or within 24 hours of a significant rainfall.
