Jackson, MS – The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), through its Beach Monitoring Program, has lifted the beach water contact advisories for East Courthouse Road Beach and Biloxi East Central Beach. Water samples at these stations show the areas have reached acceptable bacteria levels. There are no beach water contact advisories on the Mississippi Gulf Coast at this time.

Advisories have been lifted for:

  • East Courthouse Road Beach — the previously affected area is from Courthouse Rd. east to Tegarden. (Station 10B)
  • Biloxi East Central Beach — the previously affected area is from St. Peter St. east to Dukate Street. (Station 12B)

Swimmers are reminded that the Beach Task Force has a standing recommendation that swimming should not occur during or within 24 hours of a significant rainfall.
