MDEQ Issues Temporary Advisory for Lac La Buche
(JACKSON, Miss.) –The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) issued a temporary water contact advisory Tuesday for the Lac La Buche area of Pascagoula due to a broken sewer line near Highway 619 or U.S.S. Vicksburg Way. The line is being repaired.
MDEQ recommends that people avoid water contact recreation, including fishing, in these waters. In addition, people should avoid eating fish or anything else taken from these waters until further notice.
MDEQ staff will monitor bacteria levels and water quality and will revise the advisory as needed.
