MDEQ and CEQ Recognize Service of Martha Dalrymple
(JACKSON, Miss.) – The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) and the Commission on Environmental Quality (CEQ) recognized the service of Martha Dalrymple at its montly meeting on October 24. Dalrymple, of Amory, has been a member of the Commission for 14 years and served as the first female Chair from 2011 to 2013. She was also Vice Chair from 2009 to 2011.
“It’s been my privilege to get to know Martha Dalrymple, and we appreciate the outstanding work she has done as a member of our Commission. Martha is a true public servant striving to improve our environment as well as the lives of people in her community and her state. She deserves a great deal of appreciation for her long term dedication,” said Trudy Fisher, MDEQ Executive Director.
The Commission on Environmental Quality is empowered to formulate MDEQ policy, enforce rules and regulations, receive funding, conduct studies for using the state’s resources among other duties. The seven members are appointed by the governor.
