Pharmaceutical Rule

On May 26, 2022, the MDEQ adopted new regulations for management of pharmaceutical hazardous waste and to amend the P075 listing for nicotine. Rule 1.8 of MHWMR (in reference to 40 C.F.R. Part 266 of 40 C.F.R) is for the management of special wastes. This rule allows for the option to manage pharmaceuticals under the provisions of Part 266 rather than the MHWMR under rules 1.1 – 1.4.
