MDEQ Awards White Goods Solid Waste Assistance Grant to Lamar County
The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) awarded Lamar County a solid waste assistance grant of $22,946 that will be used by the county to continue a white goods collection program. The term “white goods” is used to describe a class of bulky wastes which includes major household appliances such as washers, dryers, refrigerator units, freezers, hot water heaters, and other larger comparable appliances which must be discarded when the useful life of the unit has ended.
