MDEQ Awards Two Grants to Tunica County


The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) has awarded Tunica County a solid waste assistance grant of $11,171 that will be used by the county for clean up of illegal dumps. MDEQ also awarded the county a $25,000 waste tire grant to continue the local waste tire collection program for small quantity generators of waste tires. 

MDEQ Has Awarded Smith County A Solid Waste Assistance Grant


The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) has awarded Smith County a solid waste assistance grant of $13,426 that will be used by the county for clean up of illegal dumps. MDEQ also awarded the county a $20,000 waste tire grant to continue the local waste tire collection program for small quantity generators of waste tires. 

MDEQ Awards Two Grants to Rankin County


The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) has awarded Rankin County a solid waste assistance grant of $33,198 that will be used by the county for a Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection event, recycling, and public outreach. MDEQ also awarded the county a $100,000 waste tire grant to continue the local waste tire collection program for small quantity generators of waste tires. 

MDEQ Awards Two Grants to Newton County


The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) has awarded Newton County a solid waste assistance grant of $14,524 that will be used by the county for a Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection event. MDEQ also awarded the county a $30,000 waste tire grant to continue the local waste tire collection program for small quantity generators of waste tires. 

MDEQ Issues Water Contact Advisory for Location in Pass Christian 


The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), through its Beach Monitoring Program, issued a water contact advisory Thursday for a sampling station in Pass Christian. This segment of beach is not closed; however, there may be an increased risk of illness associated with swimming in this area.
