The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), through its Beach Monitoring Program, lifted a water contact advisory Friday for sampling station 13A (Biloxi East Beach). Advisories remain in effect for stations 1, 7, and 8.

The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), through its Beach Monitoring Program, lifted a water contact advisory Saturday for sampling station 11 (Gulfport East Beach).  The agency also issued a water contact advisory for station 13A (Biloxi East Beach).  Advisories remain in effect for stations 1, 2, 4, 7, 7A, 8, 9, and 10.

The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), through its Beach Monitoring Program, lifted a water contact advisory Wednesday for sampling station 15 (Shearwater Beach in Ocean Springs). An advisory was issued for station 10 (Gulfport Central Beach). Advisories remain in effect for stations 4 and 11.

The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) awarded the City of Richland a solid waste assistance grant of $24,375 that will be used by the city for a local solid waste enforcement officer. 

The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) awarded Lafayette County a solid waste assistance grant of $18,182 that will be used by the county to clean up illegal dump sites. 

The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) awarded Issaquena County a solid waste assistance grant of $6,591 that will be used by the county to clean up illegal dump sites. 

The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) awarded Hinds County a solid waste assistance grant of $20,000 that will be used by the county for a computer recycling project at Jackson State University.
