MDEQ Awards Waste Tire Grant to Tate County


The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) has awarded Tate County a $40,000 two-year waste tire grant to continue the local waste tire collection program for small quantity generators of waste tires. 

MDEQ Issues Water Contact Advisory in Gulfport


 The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), through its Beach Monitoring Program, issued a water contact advisory Saturday for sampling station 10B in Gulfport (East Courthouse Road Beach). Advisories are still in effect for stations 7, 8, and 10.

MDEQ Lifts One Water Contact Advisory and Issues Three


The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), through its Beach Monitoring Program, lifted the water contact advisory Thursday for sampling station 12B (Biloxi East Central Beach). Advisories were issued for stations 7, 8, and 10, and one remains in effect for station 11A.

The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), through its Beach Monitoring Program, lifted the water contact advisory Friday for sampling station 8 (Gulfport West Beach). Advisories remain in effect for stations 11A and 12B.

The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), through its Beach Monitoring Program, lifted three water contact advisories Wednesday for sampling stations 1, 7, and 10. Advisories remain in effect for stations 8, 11A, and 12B.

MDEQ and MDMR Advise Fishermen and Residents to Avoid Construction Area


The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) and the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources (MDMR) are advising fishermen and local residents to avoid fishing, crabbing, and shrimping activities in and around the construction area of the Hancock County Marsh Living Shoreline project from now until the end of 2016.
