The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality, through its Beach Monitoring Program, has lifted beach water contact advisories for Bay St. Louis Beach and Biloxi East Central Beach. 

Water samples at these stations show the areas have reached acceptable bacteria levels. Two beach water contact advisories currently remain at Pass Christian Central Beach and Long Beach Beach.

Again, the ADVISORIES have been LIFTED for: 

  • Bay St. Louis Beach— the previously affected area is from the Box Culvert east to Ballantine St. (Station 4)
  • Biloxi East Central Beach — the previously affected area is fromSt. Peter St. to Dukate St. (Station 12B)

Previously issued advisories are still in place for:

  • Pass Christian Central Beach — the previously affected area is from Henderson Ave. east to Hiern Ave. (Station 6)
  • Long Beach — the affected area is from Oak Garden Ave. east to Girard Ave. (Station 7A)

Swimmers are reminded that the Beach Task Force has a standing recommendation that swimming should not occur during or within 24 hours of significant rainfall.
