Legal Division

The MDEQ Legal Division consisting of attorneys and support staff who work directly under the authority of the Executive Director. The Legal Division provides support in permitting and enforcement matters, assists in drafting legislation and regulations, and represents the Department, the Commission on Environmental Quality, and the Permit Board before state and federal courts. The attorneys of the Legal Division are not assigned to specific practice areas; each participates in the full spectrum of agency representation.
