The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) awarded Washington County a solid waste assistance grant of $40,068 that will be used by the county for a local solid waste enforcement officer.
MDEQ Issues Water Contact Advisory in Gulfport
The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), through its Beach Monitoring Program, issued a water contact advisory Saturday for sampling station 10B in Gulfport (East Courthouse Road Beach). Advisories are still in effect for stations 7, 8, and 10.
